Description
The Break
Windansea is the surf break at the foot of Nautilus Street in La Jolla — named for the Windansea Beach Club that stood here in the 1940s, a palm-thatched shack where the La Jolla Surf Club gathered. The shack is still there, rebuilt, a San Diego Historic Landmark. The break is still there too — a consistent reef break with a dedicated local community that has surfed it for generations.
The Cap
The Windansea name embroidered across the front of a low-profile corduroy cap. Soft and lightweight with an unstructured six-panel crown, cotton twill sweatband, adjustable strap with gold metal buckle. The kind of hat that goes on without thinking and packs flat for the trip.
